How-To: Replace DS Lite Bottom/Touch Screen

August 24th, 2009

This page will show you how to replace a DS Lite’s touchscreen or bottom LCD screen (or anything else in the lower part of the DS).

WARNING: The following guide is quite dangerous, will void any warranties you have, and you may be better off not trying to replace anything

This guide disassembles a lot less of the components, so it looks a bit tricky, but its easier to re-assemble and theres less risk of damaging the screens/screen cables.

How-To: Make Firefox super-fast

August 24th, 2009
Firefox can work MUCH quicker if you enable ‘pipelining’, (basically it opens multiple connections to download a page quicker) and it takes only about two minutes. There are two ways to do this:

Dropbox

August 24th, 2009

Do you want 2GB of online storage that is actually EASY to use?
Dropbox adds a folder in your ‘My Documents’ (if you’re using Windows) and you simply move/copy the files to that folder, and in the background it’ll upload your files to your dropbox! Read the rest of this entry »

YouTube – Links and URL info

August 24th, 2009

Giving out YouTube links is probably something everyone does, here is a small guide to all of the info that can be added to a YouTube URL:

Basically, YouTube video pages are coded with special ‘arguments’ or ‘parameters’ to show what is specified in the URL. The main argument would be ‘v‘; the unique code for each video (the bunch of letters/numbers at the end), that tells it to view the video you’re looking for.
let’s use an example link:

Chemistry – Easily work out the pH of a Weak Acid

August 24th, 2009

I don’t like remembering a formula without knowing exactly how it happens, but when I was doing Chemistry A-Level last year the method we was taught was too complex, especially since you had to remember the formulas to work it out that way too.

pH of a Weak Acid = -log(Ka c)
Where ‘Ka’ is the dissociation constant, and ‘c’ is concentration

Some methods involve solving a quadratic, but this one skips it. In all of the cases where I tried this, the result using the quadratic method is about 0.5% larger than this formula will give you. It’s barely any different, so you probably don’t need to worry about it.

Added WordPress + changed web host

August 3rd, 2009

It’s a lot easier to use WordPress for pages instead of editing everything using Notepad++ and uploading manually.

Also, I switched to ad-free web hosting, provided by 000webhost.com, which is free…

Be warned if you check out their site though, their affiliate program is apparantly a scam. Everything else looks awesome though. (Web Of Trust: http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/000webhost.com)
